Learn riichi mahjong with tools you can actually use

Mahjong Study Club is a Chinese-language riichi mahjong school with a full structured course, three trainers and a set of free browser calculators. This English section gives you the parts that work without reading Chinese: the calculators, the trainers, and a plain-English map of everything else.

Straight answer about languages The calculators and trainers below have English or language-neutral interfaces. The 20-lesson course, the hand-efficiency question bank and the cheat-detection handbook are written in Chinese β€” we did not machine-translate them, because a bad translation of a strategy course is worse than no translation. The table further down tells you exactly what is readable without Chinese.

What is free and what is paid

Every calculator and every trainer on this site is free and runs entirely in your browser β€” there is no server, no account, and nothing you type is transmitted anywhere. The paid part is the structured course and personal hand-review.

Why this exists

Free mahjong videos tell you what the right play is. They do not tell you which mistake you keep making. Every trainer here records what you got wrong, and the drills are generated from your own mistakes β€” that is the whole design idea. It is also why the mistake log lives in your browser instead of on a server: your progress is yours, and you can export it as a file or a transfer link and move it to another device.
